Vintage Toy Farm Set and Link Party Week 18

Sending out a big “Thank you!” to my mom, who saved all of my Fisher Price play sets all these years.  Bless her, she had the vision to know that “they don’t make ’em like they used to” would some day apply to these play sets, and boy was she right.  We recently brought them all home from grandma’s house to our house, and I snapped a few shots of the farm set to share with you.

All of the animals legs and tails move and pose, as do their heads.  The barn has great details, both inside and out:

Even the hay loft has hay!

Uh oh, it looks like a very tall tractor ran into the silo…

Here’s a great aerial shot from the Fisher Price Airport’s helicopter:

I’ll be sharing the airport, village, dollhouse, school house, camper with boat, and the amazing castle in later posts.  For now, we’ll leave the farm under the watchful eye of the chicken, and have ourselves a link party!

New Feature! Now, if you hover over someone’s image in the link party, you can share it via Pinterest, Facebook…. Awesome, yeah?

  1. Dawn,
I am not sure what your age is but my sons had the same one but I gave it to my sister when she had her 5th child at 40 years old and had already gave away all of her own kids toys…..
My sons are 30 and 32y/o……

    Thanks so much for hosting!!

  2. What great treasures your mom saved for you! And I like your newest feature of being able to share the links, too. Thanks for hosting, Dawn. I’m sharing all about caring for vintage textiles this week with readers. 🙂

  3. Hi Dawn,
I have that farm too, and the castle, school and the blue house. When my kids were young I scouted out flea markets and garage sales and even bought the FP Collector’s book and I managed to get every single set from 1968-1988! I had them all! And then I got bored with them and realized it was silly to have them all, besides they took up too much space so I sold MOST of them off, keeping my original 3 and a few more. Aren’t they fun though?
    Have a great week,

  4. Dawn that is just awesome, my sister had that set but I never did. Thanks so much for hosting and sharing a piece of your childhood.

  5. Love the barnyard with all the animals. Can’t wait to see the other toys. Thank you for hosting. One of my links is lost somewhere in the blog-o-sphere. Maybe it will return to party!

  6. Hi Dawn. Our daughter had these Fisher Price sets and our grandkids now play with them and like them better than the new toys. Thank you for sharing those and hosting!

  7. I’d forgotten about that sweet little mouse inside the barn! My mom saved most of my Fisher Price stuff, but somehow the barn and the airplane were lost. They’d both been thrifted originally, so they didn’t have all of the little bits and pieces. As much looking as I did, I never could find another barn or plane like the ones I had in the early 70s.

    I always wanted the castle.
