July has come and gone, August is here. I hope you’re all having a great summer. We’ve been so busy I almost think things will slow down when school gets back in session! Since I usually change out my vintage kitchen displays around the 1st of each month, it occurred to me that I hadn’t shown y’all my patriotic arrangement I had for July. I usually show this along with a tablescape, but my tables have been out on the porch lately. Better late than never.
The top photo is the antique pie safe we have in our kitchen. Some of you may recall that I’ve had a wooden peach crate arrangement up there for a long time, and normally use that to display my vintage kitchen glass collection, like last autumn’s arrangement:
Well, I was a bit tired of that, so I moved the peach crates into the bedroom and we’re using them as a kind-of filing cabinet for paperwork and mail. It turns out to be a great use for it!
For August I usually go with a green-and-yellow theme. It makes me think of corn becoming ripe in the fields and how delicious fresh corn is. Maybe I’ll share that with y’all when I return from a little blogging break I’m taking.
Taking a Break
I’m taking a couple of weeks off from blogging, but I’ve scheduled this and a few other things to post on “auto-pilot”, including the weekly History & Home Link Party on Tuesdays, so you won’t even know I’m offline! I’m planning to unplug completely, so I won’t be responding to comments right away.
Welcome to those of you joining from any of these fine link-ups! Visit the menu at the top for more!
