Patina Happens plus History and Home Link Party

Welcome to the 22nd week of the History and Home link party!  This is the place for bloggers to share their stories about home decor, home reno, home-everything, antiques, vintage, and history, and for our readers to enjoy what they’ve shared.

A few months ago, I showed y’all this cute chalkboard one of my favorite thrift stores had created to draw in customers, do you remember it?

Well, I was just tickled last week when I received an email from reader Debra D., owner of The Preservation Station in Occoquan, VA, showing me the sign she’d made after seeing the one here on We Call It Junkin:

She explained that her shop is so hard to find, even people deliberately looking for it can’t find it!

I think she had a great idea, this should really make her shop easier to find.  Great job Debra!

I really love this part:  “Patina Happens”   I might have to steal that sometime…

I’m so glad that Debra said I could share her photos with y’all.

Now, what do y’all have to share this week?  Before you do, I have to say that visits were waaaayyyyy down last week, so y’all please get out there and visit each other, mingle, it’s a party, after all 🙂

  1. Good morning, Dawn, I’m also at the party early and will be back. It’s been a busy week of junkin’ and I’m not caught up with home matters yet! Thanks for hosting.

  2. Good Morning Dawn! I love it – “Patina Happens” !!! I know the trend is to take an old piece of furniture and paint it with chalk paint, and if said old piece of furniture is pretty well beat up, then it is a good thing. But not when you have a beautiful old table with a patina to die for. In the coming months I will be painting a china cabinet and several other items but only because someone else has already screwed them up trying to paint them.

  3. Hi Dawn,
Patina happens, that is cute! Thanks so much for hosting, I’m off to check out the other participants. 🙂
    Have a great day,
    Gina

  4. Thanks for the party, Dawn. I love that sign–it would actually be a nice sign to have in a home with a lot of vintage items! 🙂

  5. Hi Dawn,
Looks like you’ve been super busy this week and I so appreciate you stopping by my blog to leave a comment. It’s great to know about your party and I’ll keep it in mind! All the best, Jane
