History and Home Link Party

It’s time for week # 42 of the History and Home Link Party, the place for bloggers to share their stories about:

  • home decor
  • home DIY
  • antiques and vintage finds
  • history and historic places

I’m so glad you’re here to share and read along!

I really enjoyed Jill’s article last week about give-away ads in vintage magazines.  I reminded me of something I sent off for as a child and still have!  Jill, I may have to write about that, soon, you inspired me.

A Little Bit of Everything

Deanie’s Stash shared a really good tutorial on how to make wipe-off trash bags for your car, only spending $1 at the dollar store!

Jennie showed us this lovely planter / vase, and would love it if you can help her identify it.  If you have any info click on it and share what you know!

  1. Dawn, I remember the sendaways also! I got a camera with DumDum sucker wrappers, and my brother got a bike (yes!) with Mallo cards. That’s a lot of candy!

Thanks for hosting this fun party setting – I always enjoy all the fun here.

  2. I sent away for Wella Balsam Shampoo and Conditioner. Somehow my address was stuck in their mail system and I received boxes of it! My brothers fell for the x-ray glasses. Thanks for hosting. I am in love with Rita’s yellow Quimper!

  3. Mail in offers were so fun, weren’t they? I sent away for things for my kids but I don’t have anything I sent away for – can’t wait to see what you have…..

Thanks for featuring my post and for hosting every week – have a great day!!

  4. Hi Dawn, I am so happy that I finally have a post that I can link to your party. I found the Sunsation Corelle plates that I used in this tablescape at Goodwill a few weeks back. I am not sure how vintage they are but they are really cute. Have a great afternoon… Candy

  5. Hi Dawn,

I commented on “Got My Reservations” to let her know that what she has is a chicken/poultry feeder. A very nice one! I shared a little more info about them in the comment I left for her, if you’re interested. It was fun to see that on your post, and to be able to participate. I hope that I’m not too late! I really enjoy you blog. Thanks!

    1. Thank you so much for taking the time to let Jennie & the rest of us know what that is! I would have never guessed a chicken feeder, but now that you say that I can “see” it. Thanks so much joining in ~ Dawn
