Armchair Junkin: Episode 7

Are you ready to do some imaginary shopping with me, folks?  Well then, just settle back in your most comfy armchair and let’s go.

Let’s just imagine, shall we, that we have plenty of money to spend, and that we have a huge house so space isn’t an issue.   No one’s gonna call the producers of Hoarders on you.  You can pick whatever you want – there’s even a poll at the end so you can vote for your faves!

First – last month’s winner:  The most prized item from Episode 6 was:

AJ Ep6 Collage

The Gate Leg Table!

With almost 21% of the votes, it was the clear winner.  Much to my surprise, the vintage fridge with the pink interior (pictured to the left of the table) only got 2% of the votes, and I’d thought that would be the winner.  Shows how much I know!

And Now – Episode 7:  Will It Be A Repeat? and The Enigma

1.  A drop leaf table!

Will a table win it again?  (And check out the glass in this booth, will ya?)

antique table and chairs

2.  Mid-century china!

Because we can never have enough dishes, can we?

3.  A Cute Bench!

4.  Table with Pressed Back Chairs!

Sorry this is blurry but I was in a hurry.  Oh!  I’m a poet and I didn’t know it!

5.  Strawberries Cross Stitch!

Regular readers know how it pains me to see some poor lady’s needlework in a thrift store 🙁

What’s with the salt shaker though?  Salt on watermelon?  Yes.  Salt on strawberries?  Never heard of it.

Oops! It’s a muffineer: an antique sugar shaker.  Thanks to Tricia and Rita for straightening me out on that one! (See the comments below.  That’s what I get for writing at 5am when I’m low on caffeine intake…)

6.  Mid-century Record Player!

And they had about 1000 records for sale to go with it.  I exaggerate not.

7.  Shield-back Chairs!

Set of 6, including the host and hostess.

8.  Vintage High Chair!

I can’t decide if I like the silver paint, though.  You?

9.  Whatzit!

Seriously, what the heck is this thing?

A candle holder is the only thing I can come up with.  The colors and glaze on it were really pretty.

Perhaps an art piece.

Perhaps something to make you go, “Hmmm”.

Alrighty, y’all, ready to vote?  Pretend you’d been out junkin with me and tell us what you’d have bought.

Remember – money’s no object, space is not an issue.  You’re free as a bird!

No personal info needed, just click on your vote and vote for as many as you like.

Poll closes May 31, 2014 at 11:59 p.m.  Yes.  Exactly.

Results early next month in Episode 8 as long as y’all continue to like this 🙂

  1. Dawn, I love this series, so much fun. And don’t you remember from my post on the Mother’s Day brunch tablescape – that ‘salt’ shaker is actually a muffineer (sugar shaker)! 🙂

  2. I voted for the shield back chairs because I want to paint a set of them and the cute bench because someone else has already painted it. The dining table pictured with the pressed back chairs is just like my dining room table. I used to give friends 45RPM records for their forty-fifth birthdays, but now I am collecting 78’s for the future :>)

  3. it must be my current state but i went for the highchair without much thinking. i’d definitely give it a nice new coat of paint though, that silver gunmetal colour just looks a bit off, unless you are a darth wader fan 🙂
